Even in his old age he has much unresolved issues. I think his kensho may have been real but not managed well or maybe even not real but another thing mistaken for it. But what do I know? "Oops I fell off" this Zen master may say! :-D It is certainly something to consider, those looking for escape may escape and hide from their truth.
